• Kitty Hickok is busy enrolling employees in the PEIP Health Plan and
conducting the open enrollment for our dental plan with Health Partners.
Both plans will begin on May 1, 1995.
• Meter read cards were mailed last week and are beginning to come back
from utility customers.
Don
PUBLIC WORKS
* Thein Well Company is installing the column pipe and line shaft at well one
this week. The will begin on well two next week, with the anticipated start
up of these wells later in the week. A few upgrades were made to well one
to increase the strength of the column pipe and make the well more uniform.
* Several of the Public Works employees and both Park employees are
attending Water Certification school this week. This seminar is required to
retain their operator's certification.
* Several staff members attended a Work Zone Traffic seminar on Monday.
This seminar provided staff members a review of the regulations for
performing road and utility repairs within the driving surface.
* Staff received two RFP's for the water meter changeout/automatic reading
program on Wednesday. One of the documents was not returned in the
format specified, was incomplete, and very poorly assembled, but staff
graciously provided them an extension to Friday at 3:00. This proposal is
very detailed and will take a significant amount of time to analyze. It is the
intent of staff to recommend the best overall system for consideration. Staff
intends to present it's findings at the May work session.
Mike
