The attached sheets list
those goals along with the status of each. A further analysis of
each (as they relate to the Community Development Department) is as
follows:
GOAL NO. 1 IMPROVE INTRA-DEPARTMENT COMMUNICATIONS
Staff encourages the use of Electronic mail for the dissemination
of pertinent information. This allows for members of the
Department to be kept abreast of the activities of each member of
the Department and to convey that information to the general public
if necessary. The City Planner and Public Works Supervisor meet
weekly to ensure that projects which may be the responsibility of
both the Community Development Department and Public Works are
being handled appropriately (i.e. Greenfield Ponds Development) .
GOAL NO. 2 IMPROVE INTER-DEPARTMENT COMMUNICATIONS
Staff provides articles for "This is It" on a regular basis. The
City Planner has also been named to the Newsletter Editorial
Committee and coordinates the number and content of articles for
the Community Development and Public Works Departments.
GOAL NO. 7 REWRITE ZONING AND SIGN CODES
In July of 1993 , the City Planner and Code Enforcement Officer
completed review of the Zoning and Sign Codes of the Municipal
Code. The review included contacting other Cities for input and
suggestions on certain topics. The Planning Commission has
conducted a preliminary review of the Codes but, has elected to
wait for the outcome of the Focus _ 2000 Project so that
recommendations contained in that document can be incorporated in
their final review.
