REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION Agenda Section: 3.
STAFF REPORT Report Number: 94-1 Q 53WS
EVv° Report Date: 2-3-94
AGENDA SESSION DATE February 7, 1994
DISPOSITION
Item Description:
Consideration of Request for Vacation of Right—of—Way, Dynex Industries
4751 Mustang Circle
Administrator's Review/Recommendation: ''..
- No comments to supplement this report /1S "
- Comments attached.
Explanation/Summary (attach supplement sheets as necessary.)
SUMMARY;
Brian Sjoberg, representing Dynex Industries, has approached City Staff
with a request to vacate a portion of unimproved City-owned right-of-way
bordering the Dynex property at 4751 Mustang Circle.
The right-of-way was originally dedicated at the time the property Dynex
is located on was platted. At that time, the City of Mounds View was
providing R-O-W for the potential connection to a New Brighton Municipal
road which was planned for the area to the South of the Dynex property.
At present, the property to the South of Dynex has been developed and no
provision for the aforementioned connection was made by the City of New
Brighton. Based on these facts and, following consultation with Public
Works Supervisor Mike Ulrich, there appears to be no need for the R-O-W.
Mr. Sjoberg has informed Staff that Dynex would like to use the R-O-W area
for either the expansion of their parking lot or as a truck drive accessing
the rear of their property. A preliminary schematic, provided by Dynex,
has been included for your review. In addition, Staff has included a
letter of request from Dynex and a City map depicting the location of Dynex
and the R-O-W under discussion.
I.
Paul Harrington, 9(ty Planner
RECOMMENDATION:
