Some of the recent progress that has been made includes finishing
sheetrocking and taping, hanging the suspended ceilings in the
new areas, demolishing a doorway in the Police area and finishing
installation of the windows and doors.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR AND HOUSING INTERN
We have started to receive applications for both the EDC position
and the Housing Intern position. To date, we have received 17
applications for the EDC position and 12 applications for the
Housing Intern position. The deadline for both positions is the
end of the day on Monday, February 14, 1994.
Tim C.
PARKS
Because of the lasting cold weather, the rinks will be able to stay open
longer than usual. Although the budget appropriates for supervised rinks
until February 13, I am sure that we will be able to extend this date until
after President's Day on Monday, February 21 , 1994 - a day when all
students are home from school.
Ice rink melting occurs when temperatures become warmer, but also
when the sunshine is longer and stronger each day nearer to Spring
time. The evaporation begins to take a toll on ice during these changing
season conditions. However, as long as the weather continues to be
cold, we can continue to flood the rinks to keep the evaporation element
in check.
Steve has been working with contractors for estimates on water, sewer
and natural gas services to the park buildings. He is collecting price
estimates and information for the grant and also for our files.
The windows at Lambert Park building have needed reinforcement and
that work has been done this week.
4
