C. City Engineer Services The ENGINEER shall conduct and/or prepare as directed by the City Council the following: 1. Reviews, Investigations and Reports 2. Feasibility Studies 3. Plans, specifications and general observation of construction on projects with construction costs less than $100,000. 4. Assessment Rolls 5. Easement Descriptions 6. Resident Project Representation and construction staking work. 7. Density/Moisture Tests 8. Revisions to reports, plans, and/or specifications due to changes in scope of project. D. Major Projects For projects with construction costs of $100,000 or more each, the ENGINEER shall conduct and/or prepare plans, specifications and general observation of construction as directed by the CITY. Individual major projects shall be identified and the scope and detail thereof described in a brief letter proposal submitted by the ENGINEER to the CITY which letter proposal shall also provide for the basis for payment to the ENGINEER. Written acceptance and/or authorizing council action of any proposal submitted will be required prior to commencing work. SECTION II - PAYMENTS TO THE ENGINEER A. Meeting Attendance For attendance at Council Meetings, Planning Commission Meetings and Public Hearings the ENGINEER shall be paid at the rate of fifty dollars ($50.00) per meeting. For attendance at Metropolitan Council meetings, Metropolitan Waste Control Commission meetings, Watershed District meetings, State Agency meetings and Court Hearings the ENGINEER shall be paid at the rate of 2. 1 times the applicable payroll cost plus travel at cost. Payroll cost is defined as the cost of salaries ( including sick leave, vacation and holiday pay applicable thereto) of all personnel for time directly chargeable; plus unemployment compensation, insurance, retirement benefits, incentive compensation benefits, and medical and surgical benefits. - 2 -
