Resolution 7599, Approving the 2010-2011 Public Works Collective 3 <br />Bargaining Unit Labor Agreement. 4 <br /> 5 <br />City Administrator Ericson advised that the Mounds View Public Works Collective Bargaining 6 <br />Unit approved the 2010-2011 Labor Agreement with terms consistent to those discussed by Staff 7 <br />and the City Council. 8 <br /> 9 <br />City Administrator Ericson presented the terms of the revised Agreement as detailed in the staff 10 <br />report and recommended the Council approve Resolution 7599 approving the 2010-2011 Labor 11 <br />Agreement with the Mounds View Public Works Collective Bargaining Unit. 12 <br /> 13 <br />Council Member Mueller thanked the Public Works Department for their assistance in working 14 <br />with the City to reach the proposed labor agreement. She appreciated the fine services provided 15 <br />by the Public Works Department staff to the community. Council Member Gunn agreed. 16 <br /> 17 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Stigney. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 7599, 18 <br />Approving the 2010-2011 Labor Agreement with the Mounds View Public Works Collective 19 <br />Bargaining Unit. 20 <br /> 21 <br />Council Member Gunn thanked the Public Works Department for working with the City to reach 22 <br />this agreement in a timely manner. 23 <br /> 24 <br />Mayor Flaherty echoed these comments explaining the Public Works Department kept the City’s 25 <br />best interests in mind when negotiating and approving the proposed agreement. 26 <br /> 27 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 28 <br /> 29 <br />C. Resolution 7593, Awarding a Construction Contract for the 2010 Well No. 1 30 <br />& 2 Rehabilitation Project. 31 <br /> 32 <br />Public Works Director DeBar described the City’s maintenance and rehabilitation program for 33 <br />the City’s wells, pumps and motors. He said that the City was on a seven-year cycle for well 34 <br />rehabilitation work. 35 <br /> 36 <br />Public Works Director DeBar presented the five quotes received from well contractors, which 37 <br />ranged from $79,015 to $99,350 with the low quote submitted by Keys Well Drilling Company 38 <br />of St. Paul, Minnesota. He advised that Keys performed the last rehabilitation on these same 39 <br />wells in March of 2003 and are very familiar with the City’s well configurations. If approved, 40 <br />construction will begin in early April of 2010. He noted that the contractor should complete the 41 <br />work on Well No. 1 by May 28th. Well No. 2 would be completed after the motor was replaced. 42 <br /> 43 <br />Public Works Director DeBar presented staff’s recommendation for the City Council to adopt 44 <br />Resolution 7593 to award the construction contract to Keys Well Drilling Company of St. Paul, 45
