2008 Mounds View Comprehensive Plan
________________________________________________________________________

Chapter 8: Intergovernmental Coordination 8-6

Adjacent Cities and Other Agencies

Changes in adjacent cities and decisions by other agencies may also affect the quality of life in
Mounds View. The City recognizes that it does not exist in isolation but is part of a larger region.
Mounds View will work with other governmental agencies and nearby cities to lessen potential
negative impacts when a decision crosses jurisdictional borders or have an impact on an adjacent
city.

An effort that demonstrates this cooperation is the Housing Collaborative Institute (HCI). The HCI
is a group of members primarily from north suburban cities that organize monthly meetings and
speakers about housing issues. The intent of this group is to educate its members on housing issues
and present information that may benefit housing programs in each of the cities.
