<br />Item No: 8A <br />Meeting Date: January 12, 2009 <br />Type of Business: CA <br />Administrator Review: _____ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br /> <br />From: Joe Rhein, Consulting Engineer <br /> <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 7400 Establishing Parking Regulations for <br />Red Oak Drive from County Road 10 to Long Lake Road <br /> <br />Background: <br />On March 24, 2008 the City Council adopted Resolution 7243 ordering the 2009-2010 <br />Street and Utility Improvement Project. <br /> <br />On July 28, 2008 the City Council adopted Resolution 7307 to establish several design <br />parameters for the 2009-2010 Street and Utility Improvement Project, including the <br />width of Red Oak Drive from Hillview Road to Long Lake Road. <br /> <br />On August 25, 2008 the City Council adopted Resolution 7327 to designate the side of <br />Red Oak Drive along which the shared use pedestrian/parking lane was to be provided <br />from Hillview Road to Long Lake Road. <br /> <br />On September 22, 2008 the City Council adopted Resolution 7336 approving the <br />inclusion of traffic calming elements (chokers) along Red Oak Drive from Hillview Road <br />to Long Lake Road. <br /> <br />On October 27, 2008 the City Council adopted Resolution 7348 approving the lane <br />configuration and width for Red Oak Drive from County Road 10 to Hillview Road. <br /> <br />On December 22, 2008 the City Council adopted Resolution 7382 approving the plans <br />and specifications for the 2009-2010 Street and Utility Improvement, setting the bid <br />date, and authorizing Staff to place the ad for bid for the project. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br />Plans and specifications have been prepared for the improvement of Red Oak Drive, <br />from County Road 10 to Long Lake Road, as part of the 2009-2010 Street and Utility <br />Improvement Project. Red Oak Drive has been designated by the City as a State Aid <br />Street. The portion of Red Oak Drive from County Road 10 to Hillview Road is <br />identified as Municipal State Aid Street (MSAS) No. 146-228-005 on the Minnesota <br />Department of Transportation (MnDOT) system. The portion of Red Oak Drive from <br />Hillview Road to Long Lake Road is identified as MSAS No. 146-241-001. <br />
