Item No.8E <br />Meeting Date:January 12, 2009 <br />Type of Business: CA <br />WK: Work Session; PH: Public Hearing; <br />CA: Consent Agenda; CB: Council Business <br />City Administrator Review _______ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To:Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From:Joe Rhein, Consulting Engineer <br />Item Title/Subject:Resolution 7399 Accepting the 2008 Street <br />Maintenance Project and Authorizing Final Payment <br />Background: <br />On January 28, 2008 the City Council approved Resolution 7213 authorizing the <br />preparation of a preliminary feasibility report and the selection of a consultant for <br />the 2008 Street Maintenance Project. <br />At the meeting, Staff introduced the concept of partnering with the City of Spring <br />Lake Park as a way to reduce the administrative costs and perhaps receive more <br />favorable bids. This had been done successfully on the 2007 Street <br />Maintenance Project. <br />On February 11, 2008 the City Council approved Resolution 7222 authorizing the <br />preparation of a Joint Powers Agreement and setting a Public Improvement <br />Hearing date for the 2008 Street Maintenance Project. <br />On March 10, 2008 the City Council approved Resolution 7234 approving the <br />Feasibility Report, holding a Public Improvement Hearing, ordering the project, <br />authorizing the preparation of plan and specifications, and approving a Joint <br />Powers Agreement with the City of Spring Lake Park. <br />On May 12, 2008, the City Council approved Resolution 7273 approving the <br />plans and specifications, setting a bid date, and authorizing the advertisement for <br />bids for the 2008 Street Maintenance Project. <br />On June 23, 2008 the City Council adopted Resolution 7297 awarding a <br />construction contract for the 2008 Street Maintenance Project to Allied Blacktop <br />Co. of Maple Grove, Minnesota in the amount of $266,270.00.
