<br />Item No: 8.B. <br />Meeting Date: February 9, 2009 <br />Type of Business: Council Consent <br />Administrator Review: _____ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Mark Beer, Finance Director <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 7407 Adopting a Modification to Sections 2.2 <br />thru 2.4 of the City’s Purchasing Policy <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Attached is Resolution 7407 adopting a modification to sections 2.2, 2.3, and 2.4 of the <br />City’s purchasing policy to reflect changes in Minnesota statute §471.345 regarding <br />uniform municipal contracting and bid laws. The statutory changes became effective on <br />August 1, 2008. <br /> <br />The statutory change increased the threshold for sealed bids and advertising to <br />$100,000. The legislature increases this limit from time to time to recognize that things <br />cost more and that governments should not incur additional advertising costs and <br />administrative costs because they do.
