Item No. 7B <br />Meeting Date: February 23, 2009 <br />Type of Business: CB <br />WK: Work Session; PH: Public Hearing; <br />CA: Consent Agenda; CB: Council Business <br />City Administrator Review _______ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To:Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From:Joe Rhein, Consulting Engineer <br />Item Title/Subject:Resolution 7414 Awarding a Construction <br />Contract for the 2009-2010 Street and Utility <br />Improvement Project <br />Background: <br />On May 22, 2006 the City Council adopted Resolution 6823 authorizing <br />preparation of a Feasibility Report for the 2007-2008 Street and Utility <br />Improvement Project. <br />On December 11, 2006 the City Council adopted Resolution 6982 approving the <br />Feasibility Report for the 2007-2008 Street and Utility Improvement Project. The <br />2007-2008 Project was suspended following completion of the Feasibility Report. <br />On October 22, 2007 the City Council adopted Resolution 7176 establishing the <br />Street and Utility Program. The Program includes nine Street and Utility <br />Improvement Projects to be constructed over a ten year period, beginning in <br />2009 and ending in 2018. <br />On March 24, 2008 the City Council held a Public Hearing and adopted <br />Resolution 7243 ordering the 2009-2010 Street and Utility Improvement Project, <br />based on the Feasibility Report for the 2007-2008 Street and Utility Improvement <br />Project, with the addition of Red Oak Drive north of Sherwood Road. <br />On December 22, 2008 the City Council adopted Resolution 7382 approving the <br />plans and specifications, setting a bid date, and authorizing the advertisement for <br />bids for the 2009-2010 Street and Utility Improvement Project.
