July 27, 2009 City Council Meeting Minutes. 3 <br /> 4 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Hull. To Approve the July 27, 2009 City Council Meeting 5 <br />Minutes as Previously Amended. 6 <br /> 7 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 8 <br /> 9 <br />11. REPORTS 10 <br />A. Reports of Mayor and Council. 11 <br /> 12 <br />Council Member Mueller stated Festival in the Park benefited from fabulous weather and a great 13 <br />turnout. She thanked all who participated and read the trophy recipients and sponsors of the 14 <br />Festival in the Park Car and Tractor Show. 15 <br /> 16 <br />Council Member Gunn agreed the Festival in the Park was a great day and thanked volunteers 17 <br />and Public Works employees. 18 <br /> 19 <br />Mayor Flaherty thanked Clerk-Administrator Ericson and Assistant Clerk-Administrator Crane 20 <br />for their work at the Festival. He also thanked Cub Scout Pack 167 for helping with the parade 21 <br />and serving as the Color Guard. 22 <br /> 23 <br /> B. Reports of Staff. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Clerk-Administrator Ericson thanked volunteers and staff who helped with the Festival in the 26 <br />Park to assure it was a great event. He also thanked Assistant Clerk-Administrator Crane for 27 <br />acting as the City’s “point person” to answer questions and resolve issues. 28 <br /> 29 <br />1. Announce the City Council / Staff Retreat Scheduled for Monday, 30 <br />August 31, 2009. 31 <br /> 32 <br />Clerk-Administrator Ericson reminded the Council of the upcoming Council/staff retreat 33 <br />scheduled for August 31, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Following discussion, Council 34 <br />consensus was to hold the retreat in the Council Chambers since the conference room may not be 35 <br />large enough to house residents. 36 <br /> 37 <br />2. Discuss Airport Advisory Commission Vacancy. 38 <br /> 39 <br />The Council discussed the vacancy on the Airport Advisory Commission as a result of David 40 <br />Jahnke’s passing. Following discussion, Council consensus was reached to direct staff to draft a 41 <br />resolution to appoint Clerk-Administrator Ericson to the vacancy and reappoint Barbara Haake to 42 <br />another term on the Airport Advisory Commission. 43 <br /> 44
