Item No. 7D <br />Meeting Date: March 10, 2008 <br />Type of Business: CB <br />WK: Work Session; PH: Public Hearing; <br />CA: Consent Agenda; CB: Council Business <br />City Administrator Review _______ <br /> City of Mounds View Staff Report <br /> <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Greg Lee, Director of Public Works <br /> <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 7239 Setting a Public Hearing Date for <br />the 2009-2010 Street and Utility Improvement Project <br />Background: <br />On May 22, 2006 the City Council approved Resolution 6823 authorizing the <br />preparation of a Preliminary Feasibility Report and the selection of a consultant <br />for the 2007-2008 Street and Utility Improvement Project. <br /> <br />On December 11, 2006 the City Council held a public hearing and approved <br />Resolution 6982 approving the Feasibility Report for the 2007-2008 Street and <br />Utility Improvement Project. <br /> <br />On February 12, 2007 a petition in opposition to the 2007-2008 Street and Utility <br />Improvement Project was accepted by the City Council. <br /> <br />On October 8, 2007 the City Council made a motion to authorize Staff to initiate <br />preparation of a 2009-2010 Street and Utility Improvement Project by working <br />with the engineering consultant to collect data, mainly on Red Oak Drive north of <br />Sherwood Drive, and to initiate the development of a raingarden program. <br /> <br />On October 22, 2007 the City Council adopted the Street and Utility Improvement <br />Program. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br />The proposed 2009-2010 Street and Utility Improvement Project will be the same <br />project as the proposed 2007-2008 Street and Utility Improvement Project, with <br />the addition of Red Oak Drive north of Sherwood Road. <br /> <br />Staff is recommending that the City proceed with the 2009-2010 Street and Utility <br />Improvement Project based on the feasibility report for the 2007-2008 Street and <br />Utility Improvement Project which was approved on December 11, 2006. <br /> <br />Staff is also recommending that the 2009-2010 Street and Utility Improvement <br />Project be developed based on the Street and Utility Improvement Program <br />adopted on October 22, 2007. <br />
