Resolution 7245 Appointing Members to the Streets and Utilities Committee 1 2 This item was heard out of order to accommodate residents in attendance. 3 4 Public Works Director Lee explained that 11 applications were received for the 7 person 5 committee and asked Council to appoint members. 6 7 Council Member Mueller said that she reviewed the names and numbered them 1 through 11. 8 She then said that she would like to appoint Numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8. 9 10 Council Member Flaherty recommended appointing 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, and 9. 11 12 Council Member Hull recommended appointing 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8 and 9. 13 14 Mayor Marty indicated he would like to appoint 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 9 15 16 Council Member Stigney recommended 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 11 17 18 Mayor Marty noted that 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8 are agreed upon. Council must decide between 5 and 19 9. 20 21 Council Member Mueller chose Number 5. 22 23 Mayor Marty chose Number 5. 24 25 Council Member Hull chose Number 5. 26 27 Council Member Flaherty said that candidate #2 has asked for a shorter term so he would suggest 28 putting that person in the shorter term. 29 30 Mayor Marty said that this was a difficult choice for Council because he knows all of the 31 candidates and he feels that all of them would do a good job. 32 33 Mayor Marty noted that the Resolution would appoint: Robert Glazer, Jim Battin, William 34 Urbanski, Valerie Amundsen, James Kavanaugh, Russ Warren, and Faith Rynders. 35 36 MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Marty. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 7245, A 37 Resolution Appointing Members to the Streets and Utilities Committee. 38 39 Public Works Director Lee noted that the first meeting of the Committee will be April 21, 2008 40 at 7:00 p.m. 41 42 Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 43 44
