Public Hearing, Consideration of Resolution 7243 Ordering the 2009-2010 1 Street and Utility Improvement Project, and Authorizing the Preparation of 2 Plans and Specifications. 3 4 Mayor Marty opened the public hearing at 7:32 p.m. 5 6 Public Works Director Lee provided an overview of the 2009 - 2010 Street and Utility 7 Improvement Project. The only difference from the 2007 – 2008 Street Improvement Project is 8 the addition of Red Oak Drive from Sherwood Road to the North was added. This project would 9 be a complete street upgrade with utility repairs but not totally replaced. Water infiltration and 10 quality items will also be included. 11 12 Public Works Director Lee reviewed the funding for the project and the tentative schedule. 13 There will be a neighborhood pre-construction meeting prior to beginning construction. 14 15 Tom Winiecki of 2700 Sherwood Road asked who ordered the intersection of Fairchild and 16 Hillview closed because he uses it every day. Public Works Director Lee indicated that the 17 Committee and Council would be discussing this and a decision still needs to be made. 18 19 Director Lee indicated that from a pedestrian safety standpoint it was recommended that the 20 intersection of Fairchild and Hillview be closed and Ramsey County is in favor of closing the 21 intersection because it is uncontrolled. 22 23 Hearing no further public comment, Mayor Marty closed the public hearing at 7:41 p.m. 24 25 MOTION/SECOND: Flaherty/Marty. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 7243 26 Ordering the 2009 – 2010 Street and Utility Improvement Project, and Authorize the Preparation 27 of Plans and Specifications. 28 29 Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 30 31 B. Resolution 7247 Authorizing the Purchase of a Non-Linear Editing System 32 for the Cable Room. 33 34 Vanessa VanAlstine addressed Council and explained that the LCD computer monitor was 35 researched and there are not many companies manufacturing them at this time. She then said that 36 the information is in the report. The Dell and the HP do not have any image controls other than 37 being able to adjust the brightness. The Gateway has extensive controls through an onboard 38 video processor and the Apple monitor has software to control it. The reason that is important is 39 to calibrate the monitor. 40 41 Vanessa VanAlstine recommended the Apple monitor as it is well recommended in the industry. 42 43
