He further 1 <br />said that the current contractors are not performing up to the contract requirements. 2 <br /> 3 <br />Council Member Stigney asked whether there is a time limit on the contract. Resolution 7242 Awarding a Contract for the Purchase of an Emergency 9 <br />Management Generator 10 <br /> 11 <br />Public Works Director Lee explained that this generator would operate all necessary equipment 12 <br />in the event of an emergency. The low bid was $83,125.61 and neither bidder bid on sound 13 <br />attenuation. Staff conducted sound readings to determine the potential impact. He then said that 14 <br />three months out of the year the generator would be stored at Well No. 3 to allow it to be used for 15 <br />peak energy times. He then said that 65 decibels should not be an issue but said that screening 16 <br />would be recommended for aesthetics and to help with the sound. 17 <br /> 18 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 7242 19 <br />Awarding a Contract for the Purchase of an Emergency Management Generator. 20 <br /> 21 <br />Council Member Stigney indicated that the original engineer’s estimate was for $73,000 and the 22 <br />recommendation is $83,125.61. Director Lee explained that the engineer’s estimate was for a 23 <br />base generator. The generator that Staff recommended runs three voltages and includes all the 24 <br />cables so it would be able to operate at City Hall, lift stations, and wells. This equipment would 25 <br />be able to be used as a stand alone power source at Festival in the Park as it has outlets to plug 26 <br />into as well. 27 <br /> 28 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 29 <br /> 30 <br />E. Resolution 7248 Longevity Increase for Police Officers Timothy Wolf and 31 <br />Keith Demarest. 32 <br /> 33 <br />Assistant Administrator Crane recommended approval of the longevity increase for Officers 34 <br />Wolf and Demarest. She then read Resolution 7248. 35 <br /> 36 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Flaherty/Mueller. To Approve Resolution 7248, Longevity Increase for 37 <br />Police Officers Timothy Wolf and Keith Demarest. 38 <br /> 39 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 40 <br /> 41 <br />Council Member Stigney asked a question about the previous item regarding the specs on the 42 <br />report for the generator, as it did not state that there was110. Director Lee indicated that the 43 <br />generator would include 110. 44 <br /> 45
