Mounds View City Council March 24, 2008 Regular Meeting Page 4 Council Member Mueller asked how the non-linear editing system would be funded. Vanessa 1 VanAlstine indicated that the funding for this purchase would come from the PEG fees charged 2 to cable subscribers. 3 Council Member Mueller asked whether the system being recommended is still compatible with 4 the existing system. Vanessa VanAlstine indicated that the recommended system is compatible. 5 Vanessa VanAlstine indicated that this computer system should have a less than one year return 6 on investment and should last five years. 7 8 Council Member Stigney asked if the software is specifically for the Apple monitor. Vanessa 9 VanAlstine explained that it would be the drivers and operating system for the Apple monitor. 10 11 Mayor Marty and Council Member Stigney inquired as to the cost of the Apple Care program and 12 the difference in the warranty. Ms. VanAlstine indicated that Apple Care is $219.00 and that 13 applies to the MacPro Computer and, if an Apple Monitor is purchased, it would apply to the 14 monitor and that would increase the monitor warranty to three years. 15 16 MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Stigney. Resolution 7244 Approving Cleaning Contract for the City Hall/Police and 22 Mounds View Community Center 23 24 Public Works Director Lee indicated that the cleaning contractors at City Hall and the 25 Community Center have not been performing in line with the contract requirements. He then 26 said that Resolution 7244 would award a contract to Clean Tech to clean both buildings. 27 28 Mayor Marty indicated he discussed this with Staff today and his question was that the building 29 looks clean enough so he was not sure what the issue was. But, there have been ongoing issues 30 with the existing contractors and that is why Staff decided to go out for bids and shop around. 31 32 Mayor Marty said that he would prefer a contractor rather than an employee to avoid having to 33 pay benefits, etc. 34 35 MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Mueller.
