Resolution 7275, Authorizing a Gambling Permit for Merrick, Inc., to 3 <br /> Conduct Charitable Gambling at Robert’s Sports Bar and Entertainment 4 <br /> 5 <br />Assistant Administrator Crane explained the requested gambling permit for Merrick, Inc., to 6 <br />conduct charitable gambling at Robert’s Sports Bar and Entertainment noting all Code 7 <br />requirements are met with this request. 8 <br /> 9 <br />Council Member Mueller asked whether there is a date when Roberts will be open. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Assistant Administrator Crane indicated she did not know. 12 <br /> 13 <br />Council Member Mueller asked whether Merrick is aware that Roberts is not open at this time. 14 <br /> 15 <br />Assistant Administrator Crane indicated that Merrick is aware of that, and the permit is valid for 16 <br />two years from the date of issuance. 17 <br /> 18 <br />Council Member Mueller asked what type of non-profit charitable gambling occurs and how the 19 <br />money is used. 20 <br /> 21 <br />John Wayne Barker of Merrick, Inc., addressed Council and explained that they intend to operate 22 <br />pull tabs and meat raffles, and said that Merrick provides occupational assistance to people with 23 <br />disabilities. 24 <br /> 25 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Stigney. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 7275, a 26 <br />Resolution Authorizing a Charitable Gambling Permit for Merrick, Inc., to Conduct Charitable 27 <br />Gambling at Robert’s Sports Bar and Entertainment. 28 <br /> 29 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 30 <br /> 31 <br /> D. Resolution 7276, Authorizing a Gambling Permit for Lake Region Hockey 32 <br /> Association to Conduct Charitable Gambling at Moe’s. 33 <br /> 34 <br />Assistant Administrator Crane explained that Lake Region Hockey Association has requested 35 <br />authorization to conduct charitable gambling at Moe’s. Staff recommends approval as all Code 36 <br />requirements have been met with this request. 37 <br /> 38 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Flaherty/Mueller.
