Item No. 7C <br />Meeting Date: August 11, 2008 <br />Type of Business: CB <br />WK: Work Session; PH: Public Hearing; <br />CA: Consent Agenda; CB: Council Business <br />City Administrator Review _______ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To:Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From:Joe Rhein, Consulting Engineer <br />Item Title/Subject:Resolution 7319 Establishing The Components Of <br />The Program To Install Infiltration Features In <br />Conjunction With the Street and Utility <br />Improvement Program <br />Background: <br />On February 11, 2008 the City Council approved Resolution 7223 creating the <br />Streets and Utilities Committee. <br />On March 24, 2008 the City Council approved Resolution 7245 appointing the <br />members to the Streets and Utilities Committee. <br />On July 15, 2008 the Streets and Utilities Committee held a Public Meeting to <br />review the storm water management aspect of the 2009 – 2010 Street and Utility <br />Improvement Project and to get feedback from the public. <br />On July 21, 2008 the Streets and Utilities Committee met to review the results of <br />the Public Meeting. The Committee adopted recommendations regarding the <br />program for surface infiltration features to be used on all projects in the Street <br />and Utility Improvement Program, for forwarding to the City Council. <br />On August 4, 2008 the City Council reviewed the recommendations of the <br />Streets and Utilities Committee as an agenda item of their Work Session. <br />Members of the Streets and Utilities Committee were present to participate in the <br />discussion with the City Council. <br />Discussion: <br />Based on the discussion of the August 4, 2008 Work Session, it is the impression <br />of Staff that the City Council is in general agreement with the recommendations <br />brought forth by the Streets and Utilities Committee in regards to the infiltration <br />features. Therefore, proposed Resolution 7319 has been prepared based on the <br />information and is being presented to the City Council for consideration of formal <br />adoption.
