Mounds View City Council August 11, 2008 <br />Regular Meeting Page 5 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />Council Member Stigney indicated that the Resolution reads that these will be installed during 2 <br />overtime, but he would prefer that they be installed, as much as possible, during regular hours to 3 <br />avoid as much overtime as possible. 4 <br /> 5 <br />Council Member Flaherty asked whether there is enough overtime in the budget to allow for this 6 <br />project. Finance Director Beer explained that it is about a 15 minute job to install one meter and 7 <br />the staff plans to install them as time allows. 8 <br /> 9 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 10 <br /> 11 <br /> H. Resolution 7318, Authorization to Purchase Two Projectors 12 <br /> 13 <br />Cable Coordinator VanAlstine explained that this requested purchase comes from the event 14 <br />center to better accommodate users of the event center, who have expressed repeated desires to 15 <br />be able to rent projectors. Users of the event center have the option to use the projectors as 16 <br />rental items. She then explained the Staff recommendation for purchasing these items. 17 <br /> 18 <br />Council Member Mueller supported the Staff recommendation and said that Ms. VanAlstine has 19 <br />shown that funds can be saved for unnecessary expenditures and there is money in the budget for 20 <br />this equipment. She then said that she would like to purchase one new projector for the 21 <br />community center, removal of the projector at City Hall to be used at the Community Center and 22 <br />install a new projector in City Hall. 23 <br /> 24 <br />Mayor Marty commented that it would be nice to have Council Meetings and Work sessions with 25 <br />all of the lights on. He then said that he agrees with the Staff recommendation. 26 <br /> 27 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Mueller. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 7318, 28 <br />Authorization to Purchase Two Projectors. 29 <br /> 30 <br />Council Member Stigney moved to amend the motion to the floor. 31 <br /> 32 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Stigney/Flaherty.
