Item No: 08B <br />Meeting Date: September 22, 2008 <br /> Type of Business: CA <br />City Administrator Review: ______ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Desaree Crane, Assistant City Clerk-Administrator <br /> <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 7324, Approving a Charitable Gambling Permit <br />(Raffle) for the New Brighton/Mounds View Rotary Club on <br />April 3, 2009, located at The Mermaid. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The New Brighton/Mounds View Rotary, a non-profit charitable organization, would <br />like to hold a Raffle on April 3, 2009, at The Mermaid. <br /> <br />The New Brighton/Mounds View Rotary is located in Vadnais Heights (3555 Willow <br />Lake Blvd # 200), and they have more than 30 active members. This meets the <br />requirements of the Mounds View City Code. <br /> <br />The Gambling Control Board requires that local unit of government (city or county), <br />pass a resolution specifically approving or denying the Premises Permit <br />Application. This resolution (approving or denying the application) must be voted <br />on and the resolution forwarded to the Minnesota Gambling Control Board. <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends approval of this gambling permit for the New Brighton/Mounds <br />View Rotary at the location and date stated above. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Desaree M.
