<br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 7346 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ESTABLSHING AN ABSENTEE BALLOT BOARD FOR THE <br />NOVEMBER 4, 2008 GENERAL ELECTION <br /> <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Minnesota Election Law provides authority to a municipality to <br />establish an Absentee Ballot Board in accordance with the provisions of the law; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this will ease the work load for election judges to perform this <br />technical and time consuming task on election day, wherein the Absentee Ballot Board <br />can begin the process 30 days prior to an election; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this will speed the processing of accepted absentee ballots <br />delivered to the precincts to be incorporated into the vote counts on election day; giving <br />election judges more available time for voters at the polls. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council <br />authorizes an Absentee Ballot Board for the purpose of reviewing all absentee ballots <br />and marking the absentee ballot envelopes as “accepted” or “rejected” with the board to <br />consist of two (2) election judges (each from a different political party) in each precinct <br />for a total of 8 election judges. <br /> <br />Adopted this 13th day of October, 2008. <br /> <br /> <br />_______________________________ <br />Rob Marty, Mayor <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br />_______________________________ <br />James Ericson, Clerk-Administrator <br /> <br />(seal) <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
