Draft: March 30, 1994 <br /> CHAPTER 408 <br /> FINANCIAL ADVISORY TASK FORCE <br /> SECTION: <br /> 408.01 Task Force Established <br /> 408.02 Task Force Purpose <br /> 408.03 Membership; Qualifications, Terms, and Compensation <br /> 408.04 Conflict of Interest <br /> 408.05 Vacancies <br /> 408.06 Organization; Meetings <br /> 408.07 Duties of Task Force <br /> 408.08 Expenditures <br /> 408.01 TASK FORCE ESTABLISHED: The Financial Advisory Task Force is <br /> hereby established and shall be referred to herein as the 'Task Force". <br /> 408.02 TASK FORCE PURPOSE: The purpose of the Task Force is to provide <br /> technical assistance to the Council and staff in matters relating to the <br /> City's finances; to develop, monitor, and periodically update long range <br /> financial pdides; and to stimulate citizen awareness and interest in the <br /> City's finances. <br /> 408.03 MEMBERSHIP; TERMS; QUALIFICATIONS; AND COMPENSATION: <br /> Subd. 1. Appointed Members: The Task Force shall consist of seven (7) <br /> members appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the majority of <br /> the Council. When first appointed, three (3) Task Force Members shall <br /> be appointed for one (1) year; two (2) Task Force Members shall be <br /> appointed for two (2) years; and two (2) Task Force Members for three <br /> (3) years. Each Task Force Member shall hold office until a successor <br /> is appointed. Thereafter, the Mayor, with approval of a majority of the <br /> Council, shall annually appoint Members to the Task Force for three <br /> year (3) terms. <br /> Subd. 2. Designated Members. In addition to the appointed membership, one (1) <br /> nonvoting member shall be designated by the City Council to serve as <br /> liaison to the Financial Policies Task Force. The term of the <br /> appointment shall be for one year; except, the term will terminate with <br /> the office from which the nonvoting appointment is derived. The City's <br /> Finance Director, or his/her designee, shall serve as an ex officio <br />
