From the mid-1980's to 1991, Mounds View
regularly held clean-up days which were funded partially by individual residents and partially by the General
Fund. Funding for Clean -Up Day was cut from the budget in 1991 after the City spent nearly $10,000 on
disposal fees.
Staff has received a joint proposal from Twin City Refuse, Inc and Keith Krupenny and Son Disposal to
service a Clean -Up Day on May 7, 1994. Twin City Refuse is a full service transfer station and will accept
almost any material for disposal, including garbage, construction debris, metals, tires, branches, and brush.
Two items that they will NOT accept are yard waste and hazardous wastes.
The base fees for drop-off would be as follows:
Car Load
Station Wagon Load
Minivan Load
Pickup Load (level)
Trailer Load (4' x 8' x 4', level)
$ 8.00
$15.00
$20.00
$35.00
$35.00
The following amounts would be charged in addition to the base fees above for these special materials:
Stuffed Chair $ 6.00
Couch $10.00
Mattresses (any size) $10.00
Box Springs (any size) $10.00
Appliance $ 7.00
Appliance w/freon $15.00
Car Tires
Larger Tires
Continued Next Page
RECOMMENDATION;
$ 1.50 each
Dependent on Size
e„aruQux)
Carla Asleson
Recycling Coordinator
