APRIL 4, 1994
PAGE TWO
Student Brad Pellegrino began his internship with the department in January and will
continue until May 16 at which time he graduates with a BS Degree in Parks and
Recreation Administration. He spent these three months gaining as much experience
as possible, attending meetings and doing the daily tasks of staff plus the added
tasks of special programming.
The Department was very happy to make the big move to the upstairs of City Hall, to
the new addition. The extra special delight is the three windows that we are enjoying.
New furniture was also purchased for Mary and Sharie and the multi -use desk shared
by Intern Brad, Forester Wriskey and student assistant April.
February and March are a good month for training. Steve attended Word Perfect 5.1
computer classes and also Traffic class. Jeff attended Sewer certification classes in
January.
Student Brad Pellegrino began his internship with the department in January and will
continue until May 16 at which time he graduates with a BS Degree in Parks and
Recreation Administration. Sharie set-up the City Newsletters and the final
Focus 2000 Report and organized the City Appreciation Event. Also, Sharie has been
working with the MVCT for this year's production of "Oliver" as well as meeting with
the Festival Committee and Garden Club on a monthly basis. Mary has been working
on the new scheduler package which provides computer readouts of park facility
usage. He is trying to get us all acquainted with the program before the rush of park
use requests begin.
Finally, Mary has been working on the ISTEA grants for a pedestrian bridge.
Everyone in the department has assisted me with this process as well as Paul
Harrington with Planning Commission information, Pat Michna and Chief Ramacher
with accident information and Jim Hess with Highway 10 information. Julie Trude has
been on the telephones soliciting political support for the project.
