Graffiti is still our frustration. Steve and Jeff tried some chemicals
suggested by Councilmember Quick but to no avail. Graffiti seems to be
a curse that we cannot rid of, the graffiti just won't come out! We have a
couple samples of chemicals used by the schools that we will try.
Something has got to work!
RECREATION:
Athletic registrations are continuing for summer activities. Spring
programs began this week, with Spring swimming soon to begin. The
adult managers meetings will be held next week as well as the umpires
meetings. Adult play begins April 18th - hope for good weather!
We are all working on information for the May/June summer brochure. It
is a big one that covers programs through August. We think that we
have some pretty exciting activities planned for the summer.
GOLF COURSE:
The "tee off" was held Monday, March 28 with the first golf balls being hit
by the Council and Task Force. Construction should begin soon, with
Veit doing the work. Bids are let for the golf course clubhouse and
maintenance garage, due April 6th.
Applications for Golf Course Superintendent are being received until April
11. We have received many calls from all over the USA and many from
Minnesota.
FORESTRY:
Rick's crew removed the bushes from the front of City Hall. They will be
doing lots of planting this Spring. Arbor Day activities with Pinewood
students will also be help in early May. Rick is also awaiting word on
grants that have been submitted. The contractors for tree work in 1994
has been approved by all the City Councils and Rick has been making
arrangements with them for work which will soon begin.
