The ditch cleaning project has been put on hold by the Rice Creek Watershed. Kate
Dewery informed us that we needed to submit a more detailed plan. SEH has been
contracted to obtain this required information.
The Water Plant revisions are nearing an end with the final punch list at #2 and start
up of #3 on April 4, 1994. The water quality is excellent!!
We assisted New Brighton in inspecting and cleaning a sewer line. It appears they
have a MAJOR break. (Better them than us!)
Cheryl has been out of work the majority of the month due to a back injury that
occurred off duty.
Cheryl, Bill Hanggi and Steve, attended a "Traffic Control" Seminar on March 28,
1994.
Larry and Wally attended a "Damage Prevention Safety" Seminar on March 29, 1994.
Road Restrictions/Overload Permits Policy is going extremely well in its third year. No
violations have been cited.
Gary has been at City Hall doing odd jobs; he resumed sweeping March 30. The
amount of material recovered from winter operations is minimized due to the use of
deicing chemicals. This practice not only makes our roads safer in the winter but
also in the spring, because vehicles don't skid or slide on the loose sand.
Ramsey County started street sweeping on March 28, 1994. They are trying a newer
practice this year by sweeping at night. We have loaned them a gate opener so they
are able to use our water fill station after hours.
Submitted by Mike Ulrich
A note submitted by Tracy
The Public Works Department received a gracious telephone call from Mrs. Doriene
Croteau of 2259 Terrace Drive, commending our department on the excellent
snowplowing and sanding. we do in our City.
