Golf Course
The bids were opened on Wednesday. While the bid on the club house is higher than
we expected, the low bid on the maintenance building is lower than expected.
Overall, we are well within budgetary constraints.
City Hall Entryway Floor
The entryway floor, the hallway outside Conference Room C (the large one near the
P.D.), and the areas outside both upstairs bathrooms will surfaced this Friday to
match the rest of the lobby area floor. The existing floor surface will also be polished.
Since the construction began, the floor has taken quite a beating and has lost its
shine.-Completing-the-floor--finishing has-been a-long time coming, but it's completion- -
will be well worth the wait!
Several people (Tom Hughes, Al Anderson of Everest, Jim O'Meara and residents)
have commented on the open and airy feeling City Hall conveys to visitors. They have
been very impressed with the "efficiency of space" that has resulted in a very
functional City Hall without "going overboard".
Western Bank
Cathy and I will be attending Western Bank's corporate staff meeting Friday morning
(8:00 a.m. in St. Paul!) to praise Mark Malone and his community involvement and the
importance of public/private partnerships. It is also a good time to introduce Cathy to
the movers and shakers at Western.
Hamline University Susan B. Anthony Award
As a member of the Hamline University's Women In Government Board of Directors I
have the privilege of participating on the selection committee for the prestigious
Susam B. Anthony award. With nominees like Sharon Sayles-Belton, Judges Pamela
Alexander and LaJune Thomas Lang, it will be a very difficult decision to make Friday
afternoon.
Strategic Planning Session
Don't forget to set your clocks Friday night for a wonderful and productive weekend!
See you all there!
Samantha
