PERSONNEL
Golf Course Superintendent
The number of candidates to be interviewed for this position has dwindled from 9 to 7. Two
of the out-of-staters dropped out. The candidate from California decided it was too
expensive to fly in for an interview and the candidate from Pennsylvania lost interest. On
Wednesday, May 4, Samantha, Mary S., the Golf Course Superintendent from the Roseville
and I will be interviewing the remaining candidates.
Labor Negotiations
Samantha, the Chief, Cy Smythe of Labor Relations and I meet on Wednesday to go over the
issues. According to Cy, we should be in arbitration by July and have a decision by
September.
New Public Works Maintenance Worker
Tim Fredberg is scheduled to begin work on Monday, May 9. He has been in contact with
me several times and seems eager and excited to be working for the City of Mounds View.
Planning Associate/Code Enforcement Officer Position
The advertisement for this position will be in this Sunday's newspaper (5/1).
PROACTIVE STREETLIGHT PLAN
I met with the representative from NSP last Friday and we have come up with proposed
locations for the installation of the 10 streetlights for this year. I am waiting for cost
estimates for some of the installations, and as soon as I receive those, the plan is to send a
letter to all affected property owners.
ADDITIONAL CITY HALL IMPROVEMENTS
The painting and carpentry work has already begun in the community room and the ceiling
tile work is scheduled to begin on Monday and be completed by the end of the week. And
we thought we were done with construction noise and dust.
The resurfacing of the entryway floor and bathroom entrance floor will take place Friday
evening May 20. The contractor has agreed to try to match the color more closely and also
to smooth out some of the rough spots.
Tim
