FINANCE <br /> • Had a meeting Friday to review a draft of the City's 1993 Comprehensive <br /> Annual Financial Report. Am working on various tables and the letter of <br /> transmittal. Hope to have it complete and printed in a couple of weeks. <br /> • Completed specifications for the 1994 renewal of our various insurance <br /> policies(7-01-94). Our insurance agent, Chuck Clysdale, Maguire Agency <br /> will now seek quotations. <br /> • Mr. Clysdale is seeking a quotation for us on a computer policy. The <br /> policy would not only cover the replacement cost of computers and <br /> software but would also cover the costs of restoring any data which may <br /> be lost. Finance staff compiled a list of City owned computer equipment <br /> and software from our fixed asset system. The original cost of all <br /> computer equipment is $331,000 and the original cost of all software is <br /> $80,000. The "big ticket items are the financial accounting system <br /> computer, the police department computer system, and the system which <br /> controls the City water system. <br /> Don <br /> POLICE <br /> 1. On Tuesday night, the DARE graduation was held at Pinewood School. <br /> Mike Seversen was the guest speaker. You may remember Mike was the <br /> Polk Co. Deputy that was shot. He is paralyze from the neck down. He <br /> gave a wonderful speech and was well received. This was Bob Nelson <br /> last class. Bob taught DARE for four years and did a great job, <br /> Thanks Bob. <br /> 2. Because of all the rain this week, our new roof was put to the <br /> test. It failed. The contractor was notified. <br />
