that they are not to mow the park grasslands, nor cut brush or trees
without permission. In addition, I sent copies of the Park Ordinance
regarding the same issue. The Association members called to state that
they are "dismayed" by the letter and wish to address the Parks and
Recreation Commission at their meeting the Thursday, April 28.
* FIRE AT GREENFIELD PARK - PATH AREA:
The police have a report of a forest fire started by children along
Greenfield Park path. The fire department caught the children and I will
be getting cost estimates for the damage, to be passed along.
* GOLF COURSE VISIT:
I will be meeting Garrett and Paul for an on-site golf course visit on
Thursday afternoon.
The Golf Course Task Force meets tonight (Wednesday, April 27).
TREE PLANTING:
Rick and his crew planted trees in the Oak grove behind City Hall. Rick
will be meeting with the Parks and Recreation Commission Thursday
evening, April 28.
TRACK PROGRAM UNDER WAY:
One great weather week and one crummy weather week has been the
commencement of the 4th & 5th grader Track Program. Hopefully the
weather will improve for the remainder of the program. We met with the
coaches and other Rec. departments regarding track equipment -
especially for future years. We will all be responsible for securing our
own funding for track equipment - hoping that the schools and cities can
solicit contributions and donations to support the program.
Mary S.
