Information programs and activities of the City, City <br /> tY <br /> Council <br /> meetings <br /> and <br /> other <br /> functions areprovided live 1 <br /> eon <br /> Cable <br /> TV a <br /> s . <br /> well as taped for frequent viewing. City Council and Commission agendas <br /> and other information messages are provided on the scroll monitor. Additional information is provided to the <br /> Cable TV subscribers with programs such as"A View From the Mound", Conversation with the Mayor, election <br /> coverage and others. Special programs are provided such as the DARE graduation, MVCT productions, youth <br /> athletic competitions, Festival publicity tapes, welcome of new businesses, and information shows regarding <br /> pruning. In addition, residents are featured offering a community. togetherness through association with <br /> recognition of community members. <br /> Franchise <br /> fees <br /> are <br /> provided ed bY <br /> the <br /> Cable <br /> TV company,anY <br /> reimbursed <br /> to the <br /> Cityfor <br /> government access programming, <br /> relative ve <br /> to the <br /> percentage nta <br /> e <br /> of <br /> ........................................ .......... Cable <br /> TV <br /> subscribers cribe <br /> rs in <br /> the <br /> community. <br /> The <br /> more <br /> subscribers,criber <br /> s the <br /> tY , <br /> greater the funding for government access. A 1/2 time Cable TV <br /> Technician provides the expertise for the program. The Cable TV Committee is comprised of community <br /> volunteer residents and staff members who offer facilitation assistance to programming activities of the <br /> Committee. This is a working committee that not only plans programs but also hosts interviews, writes scripts, <br /> produces and arranges for taping. The Technician offers production, editing and equipment expertise as well <br /> as controls the live taping of meetings. Two or more hourly employees are hired to provide assistance to live <br /> taping activities that requires a number of workers. Equipment has been purchased in the past and new and <br /> improved equipment continues to introduced on a yearly basis, of which this division continually monitors and <br /> upgrades to provide the best Cable TV operation and service to the Cable TV subscribers of the community. <br /> 1. Promote romote an interactive system where the public can <br /> 195 PIOrRAIVI OBJECTIVES participate in Council meetings from home, can access <br /> information, etc. <br /> 2. Work with the Economic Development Coordinator to feature and boost the Business Association <br /> through Cable TV programming. <br /> 3. Work with the Cable TV Committee to plan interesting, informative and exciting programs for the "A <br /> View From the Mound". <br /> 4. Assist the History group in completing the Mounds View history video. <br /> 5. Use Cable TV as a means of publicizing City sponsored activities as well as advertising community events <br /> which benefit the residents such as church activities, scout activities, school activities, etc. <br />
