COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT
ROBERT'S OFF 10
David Carlstrom, 5297 Edgewood Drive, recently met with Staff to discuss his
concerns with the Robert's Off 10 property. In particular, Mr. Carlstrom was
concerned about the health of the trees fronting Edgewood Drive, the storm water - -
run-o f from the site and, parking of cars on the property. Staff told Mr. Carlstrom
that the trees along Edgewood will continue to be monitored and, if they die, will
be replaced; The storm water control device will be installed within the next
month; and, cars on the site will need to be parked according to approved City
plans. Mr. Carlstrom indicated to Staff that he may be in to speak with the Council
on this issue.
NUISANCE ORDINANCE
Staff has given a copy of the Minnetonka Nuisance Ordinance to the Planning
Commission for review. In preliminary discussions with the Commission, Staff
emphasized the need for two items to be included in any Ordinance adopted by the
City: 1 ) All nuisances which may have to be abated by the City need to be included
in the verbiage of the document and, 2) A very specific abatement procedure
outlining the steps the City will take in rectifying a problem situation needs to be
included. It is anticipated that the Planning Commission will be ready to make its
recommendation on the final document to the City Council sometime in July.
Paul H.
