collided with a car. The women was a resident of Blaine, the driver
of the cycle lives in Mounds View. Charges are pending on the driver.
3. Tom Baumgart and myself, met with an interview panel at Pinewood.
Tom was being interviewed for the DARE Officer position.
Tim R.
PUBLIC WORKS
* Cracksealing of some city streets began last week. The weather did not
cooperate very much, so we're trying again. Because this task requires a sizable
crew (5 to 6 people), the streets and the sewer divisions have combined for this
effort.
* Both new squad cars are now on the road. Everyone is happy about that,
although they have to come back in for the propane conversion when the
equipment arrives. Thanks to Tim and Tom for a job well done.
* Final payment was requested on the water treatment plant revisions last
week. A final punch list was made, with that being taken care of soon, we hope,
this project will be complete. Staff is finding that a few operational adjustments
must be made, but nothing major.
* Seasonal employees are returning this week. It's really nice to see all of the
past employees returning. There is alot of work to be done this summer, and the
time will pass all to quickly.
* The big root cutter arrived last week, so the sewer staff has been trying to
cut roots in the storm sewer at Greenfield and Greenfield Place. This sewer is
buried under the pathway into Greenfield Park.
* The memorial plaque and stone were placed about a week ago, and some
landscaping completed around a new tree that was planted last fall honoring Dick
Schmidlin. It looks really nice, we all still miss him. Stop by and take a look.
Mike
