Professor Welsch will be filling out an <br /> application outlining his qualifications to be discussed at the work session. <br /> Outreach: <br /> I will be meeting with the new economic development coordinator for the City of <br /> Blaine, Kurt Henderson, on Friday. We will be exchanging ideas and discussing <br /> participation in the North Metro Business Retention and Expansion Commission. <br /> Cathy <br /> Planning Associate Position <br /> On Tuesday, May 24 and Wednesday, May 25, Samantha, Paul and myself <br /> interviewed 9 candidates for the Planning Associate position. On contingent offer <br /> was made to Joyce Pruitt. Joyce is a graduate of Blaine High School and has both <br /> a B.A. and M.A. in Urban and Regional Studies from Mankato State University. For <br /> the past nine months she has worked for the City of Eagan as an Administrative <br /> Intern and prior to this worked for the City of Mankato for about a year as an Intern <br /> in the Community Development Department doing Planning and Code Enforcement <br /> responsibilities. If this hire is approved by the City Council at the Monday, June <br /> 13, regular meeting, she could start Tuesday, June 14. <br /> Proactive Streetlight Plan and additional requests <br /> I met with an NSP representative about a month ago to determine the best <br /> locations of the 10 streetlights to be installed this year according to the Police <br /> Department's needs analysis. The proposed locations are: 1) Between 7664 and <br /> 7666 Woodlawn Drive. This is an underground installation that will require an <br /> easement. 2) Between 7654 and 7650 Woodlawn Drive. This would be an <br /> overhead installation. 3) Between 7626 and 7630 Woodlawn Drive. This would <br /> be an underground installation and need an easement. 4) 7610 Woodlawn Drive. <br /> This light would be attached to existing pole. 5) 7618 Edgewood Drive. Attach to <br /> existing pole. 6) 7501 Bronson Drive. This would be an underground installation <br /> from the pole to the east. No easement is required. 7) 2201 Hillview Road. This <br /> would be an underground installation. We have an easement. 8) 2109 Hillview <br /> Road. Attach to existing pole. 9) Between 2091 and 2101 Hillview Road. We <br /> have an easement. 10) 5751 Quincy St. Letters will be sent to all affected <br /> property owners to inform them of the proposed locations. <br /> There were three streetlight petitions received recently as well. Lights were <br /> requested for 8340 Red Oak Drive (which meets requirements), the 5200 block of <br /> Skiba and the 2200 block of Hillview Road (this is one of the lights included in the <br />
