Numerous water valve boxes and manhole casting must be repaired prior to laying
the final lift of asphalt. Final completion is expected in late July.
The TCAAP sanitary sewer project got under way today, with a few minor
complications already, but staff has worked them out. This connection could net the
city approximately $ 50,000 a year.
Mike
CiunimmimmilCOMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT
POSSIBLE OFFICE BUILDING ON HIGHWAY 10
Cathy Bennett and I met with Pete Veldman and Frank Huelskamp this week to
discuss the possibility of locating a three-story professional office building on the
South side of Highway 10 directly across from the Saturn property. Cathy and I
outlined the procedures necessary for the development of the property as well as
covering relevant planning and economic development issues. Mr. Veldman and Mr.
Huelskamp seemed very encouraged and will be getting back to Staff with their
plans.
COMPOST SITE LOCATION
Representatives of Ramsey County met with me and Mary Saarion this week to
discuss possible sites for a compost facility. The County has put together a list of
criteria potential sites must meet to be considered as a viable location. Although a
few locations were identified as potential sites, I informed the County that all had
limitations (i.e. wetlands, potential development as commercial property, proximity to
residences, etc.). I will forward any additional information I receive on this matter.
CHURCH UPON THE ROCK CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT
In 1988, Church Upon the Rock received a Conditional Use Permit to construct and
utilize a temporary classroom facility at 7901 Red Oak Drive. The approval contained
a sunset clause which stated that the temporary building would be removed in 1993
and the C.U.P. would be null and void. In 1993, Church Upon the Rock made
application for an extension of the original C.U.P. for one year. The one year
extension of the C.U.P. is set to expire in July and Church Upon the Rock is again
asking for an extension of the C.U.P. Currently, the Planning Commission is
reviewing this item - it will be in front of the City Council for consideration in July.
Paul H.
