Staff completed this spring's cracksealing without
incident. Although the weather did not cooperate earlier, enough material was applied
on proposed sealcoat streets so that they may be sealcoated later this summer.
Bill Hanson and Bill Hanggii completed the flush system in the reclaim tank at
treatment plant one. It works as well as designed, GREAT. These two should be
recognized for their ingenuity and workmanship in the construction of this project. The
lab tables are in for treatment plants 2 and 3. Final punch lists are almost completed,
and water quality is excellent. The contractor for the building tuckpointing began last
week. When the interior work is completed, staff will schedule a brief tour prior to a
council meeting.
Bill Hanggi is on vacation for 2 weeks. This is giving staff a perfect opportunity to train
Tim Fredberg, our newest employee, and Cheryl in different operations. The summer
vacation schedule is filling up fast. It's nice to have a couple of employees that don't
have any vacation, Ahhhhhh!!!!
I attended the North Section conference of the AWWA the week of June 6th. Not were
the sessions interesting, but I took the Class A water operator's certificate test, and
found out on Monday that I passed. It's a good feeling to be completed with all these
test. I have achieved the highest water certification and the highest wastewater
certification the state will allow for the city's system.
The bid opening for Pleasantview Dr. is scheduled to be opened July 5, 1994 by the
City of Fridley. Staff's plans are to hold a public informational meeting on July 12,
Public hearing on July 18, and adopt a resolution to proceed with the project on July
18 also. Residents of the area will be notified this week as to that schedule.
Long Lake Road construction started up this week with finishing the sidewalks.
