Summary Field Report
Project: Mounds View Golf Links and Practice Center
Owner: City of Mounds View
Contractor: Veit Companies
Field Report No.: 13
Date of Report: June 20, 1994
Date of Site Visit: June 16, 1994
Prepared by: Williams, Gill & Associates, Golf Course Architects
421 North Main Street, River Falls, WI 54022
Phone (715) 425-9511
Prepared for: City of Mounds View, Mary Saarion - Project
Manager
Present at Site: Paul Miller, Williams, Gill & Associates
Gary Rohling, Rohling Green
Dick Hibbard, Rohling Green
Kurt Johnson, City of Mounds View
Weather: 80's, overcast
Work in progress: maintenance building construction, pouring footings for
bridges behind no. 7 green and between no. 1 tees and fairway, installing pond liner
on pond A, finishing green subcavitiy on no. 7, installing greensmix in no. 1 green
General Comments:
Greensmix has been installed in no. 9 green. WGA has not received the lab report or
samples for greensmix approval. Rohling Green made the modifications to the front
edge of the green and the front portion of the bunker. Grading around the green
remains. The green looks good.
The subgrade, bunker and turf hollow were reviewed on no. 8. The bottom of the sub
cavity needs additional work to smooth out the grade. Rohling Green has not installed
the smile drain portion of the green drain tile as shown on the plans. In most cases the
smile drain is at least five feet from the edge of the cavity. The bunker edges needed
smoothing to match the shape shown on the plan.
The fairway bunkers on no. 8 were reviewed. The edges of the bunkers need
smoothing to reflect the shapes indicated on the detail.
1 Williams, Gill & Associates, Golf Course Architects
