i. Operation and maintenance of three filtration plants for removal <br /> or iron and manganese. <br /> j. Maintenance of approximately 250,000 feet of watermains, over <br /> 1000 valves, and 400 hydrants in the water distribution system. <br /> k. Operation and maintenance of the sanitary sewer collection <br /> system, consisting of 2 lift stations, approximately 235,000 feet <br /> of sewer mains and over 900 manholes. <br /> m. _ Recycling coordination and reporting, educational activities to <br /> reduce solid waste disposal problems and incentives for <br /> recycling. <br /> n. Implementation of zoning and sign code regulations including <br /> issuance of permits and enforcement of violations; also <br /> including enforcement of public nuisance codes related to land <br /> use: <br /> The current goals of the department are improving the efficient <br /> delivery of services through more productive equipment, improved <br /> work scheduling, preventive maintenance programs and appropriate <br /> response to maintenance needs. <br /> Specific objectives for 1994 are as follows: <br /> * Complete a comprehensive housing inventory and analysis <br /> including review of possible housing rehabilitation programs <br /> and possible funding sources. <br /> * Continue review of highway and County Road turnback <br /> proposals with special emphasis on existing Highway 10 <br /> turnback and redevelopment potential as a community oriented <br /> corridor. <br /> * Work with Ramsey County on the reconstruction of Old <br /> Highway 8/County Road H connection to Highway 10 and the <br /> intersection of County Road H-2 and Highway 10. <br /> 26 <br />
