F. PARKS, RECREATION AND FORESTRY <br /> The goal of the Department is to enhance the good quality of life in <br /> the City of Mounds View with the provision of opportunities for leisure <br /> recreation activities, social activities, health and wellness programs <br /> and to provide the community with a variety of park facilities, <br /> aesthetic open spaces and greenways, and multi-use trails. <br /> Major areas of service provided by the Department includes: <br /> 1 . Recreation Programs <br /> The objective of recreation programming is to enhance the <br /> good quality of life through leisure recreation activities offering <br /> all city residents the opportunity for participation, enjoyment, <br /> socialization and physical activity regardless of economic <br /> status, race, religion or ability. <br /> 2. Park Improvements <br /> The objective of park improvements is to develop a facility <br /> replacement schedule to promote safe and functional <br /> recreational facilities in the parks and to promote additional <br /> park recreational facilities through the development of a park <br /> improvement plan as recommended by the Parks and <br /> Recreation Commission. <br /> 3. Park Maintenance <br /> The objective of park maintenance is to care for the <br /> community's infrastructure investment of parks and natural <br /> settings, greenspaces, open spaces and trailways and to <br /> prepare park facilities for safe and functional use by the <br /> community. <br /> 4.
