REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION Agenda Section: 11
DS
ST' F REPORT Report Number: 93-576WS
iE AGENDA SESSION DATE August 2, 1993 Report Date: 7-79-93
DISPOSITION
Item Description: Second Quarter Quarterly Report
Administrator's Review/Recommendation:
- No comments to supplement this report
- Comments attached.
Explanation/Summary (attach supplement sheets as necessary.)
SUMMARY;
OUARTERLY REPORT
PARKS, RECREATION & FORESTRY
APRIL, MAY, JUNE, 1993
The months of April, May and June are perhaps the busiest time of the
year for all the divisions of the Department. Here is a synopsis of
activities which has been undertaken during this quarter.
PARKS:
1. Summer seasonal positions were recruited and final hires were made.
2 . Disc Golf course plans and installations began with the help of the
Frizbee Golf Association.
3 . Work began on the amphitheater - provision of fill.
4 . Work continued as weather permitted on Greenfield Park culvert
project. This project has been very long and drawn out because of
weather conditions. The weather has not allowed the soils to dry
out enough to allow heavy machinery necessary for the project.
5. Park Spring Clean Up - assisted with debris removal, provision of
trash bags, final clean-up.
6. Preparation of ball fields, grading infields, securing homeplates,
pitching plates and inspecting fields for necessary repairs. Also,
filled in infields with ag-lime, cut and painted foul and dead ball
lines, and performed other tasks in preparation of the summer
leagues.
RECOMMENDATION; Mar Sa on, Dir. of Parks, Recreation & Forestry
