v7
REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION Agenda Section: 13.
11106
STAFF REPORT Report Number: 93-463WS
7 AGENDA SESSION DATE April 5, 1993 Report Date: 4-1-93
DISPOSITION
Item Description: Discussion Regarding Process for Senior Center Decisions
Administrator's Review/Recommendation:
- No comments to supplement this report
- Comments attached.
Explanation/Summary (attach supplement sheets as necessary.)
SUMMARY;
Tuesday night, March 30th, the Senior Center Task Force invited the members
of the Councils of the four participating cities to hear the Task Force's
Final Report.
The purpose of the meeting was to update the Councils on all actions and
decisions of the Task Force to date and to recommend action for
continuation of the process.
After discussion regarding the "next step", it was decided that each City
Council would have until June 15, 1993 to either approve or reject the
attached resolution (or some form thereof) which, in essence, indicates
support for the concept and commitment to participate in the next step -
the drafting of a proposed Joint Powers Agreement.
The date of June 15th was a compromise of the four cities, especially the
cities of Fridley and Spring Lake Park who felt they needed more time to
conduct public hearings. The original date for approval/denial of the
resolution had been May 15th.
This item is placed on the agenda to allow the Council opportunity to
discuss its reactions to the proposed resolution and any subsequent action
to be taken.
.manth. Orduno, City Administrator
RECOMMENDATION;
