The purpose of the ordinance had been to delay the <br /> placement of the defined establishments/activities until the Planning <br /> Commission and Council had completed the City's Comprehensive Plan and <br /> Zoning Code amendments. <br /> The Planning Commission and City staff have been working on finalizing the <br /> Plan throughout the past year. However, the Plan will not be finalized at <br /> the City's level nor will it receive final approvals from the Metropolitan <br /> Council for some time. <br /> The Planning Commission is also addressing several issues which will impact <br /> the City's Zoning Code as it relates to Adult-Uses Principal. In order to <br /> complete the studies, obtain the necessary information and documentation <br /> to finalize the City's policies on the Adult-Uses Principal establishments, <br /> it is necessary to extend the moratorium for an additional 18 months, as <br /> provided by law. <br /> The City Attorney has drafted the attached Ordinance for consideration. <br /> Samar', a Orduno, City Administrator <br /> RECOMMENDATION: • <br /> Motion to waive the reading and introduce Ordinance No. 525 Granting an <br /> Eighteen (18) Month Extension to Ordinance No. 509 Establishing a <br /> Moratorium on the Siting of Adult-Uses Principal <br />
