ORDINANCE NO. 525 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> AN ORDINANCE GRANTING AN EIGHTEEN MONTH (18) EXTENSION TO <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 509 ESTABLISHING A MORATORIUM ON THE SITING <br /> OF ADULT USES PRINCIPAL <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Mounds View <br /> ordains: <br /> Section 1. PURPOSE AND INTENT <br /> The City of Mounds View, since the spring of 1991, and as <br /> authorized by Minnesota Statutes 462 . 355, Subdivision 4, has <br /> conducted studies and held extensive staff and Planning <br /> Commission meetings to consider amendments to the City's <br /> Comprehensive Plan and to consider the adoption of amendments to <br /> official controls, including the Zoning Code. On April 27, 1992 <br /> the City Council passed Ordinance No. 509 placing a moratorium on <br /> the siting of Adult-Uses Principal in certain areas pending <br /> the completion of the City's Comprehensive Plan, and the <br /> scheduling of public hearings and receipt of public comment <br /> regarding the Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Code amendments. <br /> Additional time is necessary to complete the study of appropriate <br /> land use controls for the siting of Adult-Uses Principal. <br /> Section 2 . Extension of Moratorium <br /> Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 462 . 355, Subdivision 4, this <br /> interim ordinance hereby extends the force and effect of <br /> Ordinance No. 509 which regulates the siting of Adult Uses- <br /> Principal consistent with the provisions of Ordinance No. 509 in <br /> order to allow the City adequate time to complete the <br /> Comprehensive Plan and to initiate zoning changes for the purpose <br /> of protecting the planning process and the health, safety and <br /> welfare of the citizens of Mounds View. This ordinance shall <br /> extend Ordinance No. 509 for an additional period of eighteen <br /> (18) months. <br /> Section 3 . Effective Date <br /> This ordinance shall take effect 30 days after the date of <br /> its publication. <br /> Introduced and read in full this day of <br /> 1993 . <br />
