STTMMARY; - • In accordance with Municipal Code Chapter 70 Section 18, I am recommending the implementation of restrictions on the outdoor use of water beginning on May 24 and continuing through September 12, 1993 . The code allows staff to implement the restrictions upon notification of the Mayor and the Clerk-Administrator. The restrictions are helpful in . reducing the peak usage of water, and also the total usage during the summer months. The restrictions. recommended are the same as the past few years, no sprinkling between noon and 4 : 00 p.m. and the' odd/even rule at other times. (The odd addresses can sprinkle on odd, numbered days, the even addresses on even _numbered days. ) I believe that the system is fair and reasonably simple to follow; and we have predicated our Water Department Capital Plan on continued summer restrictions. The mid-day ban is helpful in lowering the peak usage and also discourages residents from starting a sprinkler when they leave for work and letting it run . all .day.
