PUBLIC ACCESS TO MOUNDS VIEW GOLF FACILITY <br />Mounds View Market Area <br />Often as important as radial distance to a golf facility is the <br />ease or time taken to get there. An example is Inver Wood, <br />the new municipal golf facility in Inver Grove Heights. Inver <br />Wood is only 10 minutes from downtown St. Paul, thanks to <br />the Lafayette Bridge and freeway, and not more than 25 <br />minutes from downtown Minneapolis, thanks to I-94 or I-494. <br />The Twin Cities Metro Area is covered with good freeway <br />systems. <br />An examination of "Golf Facilities in the Market Area" on <br />page 16, reveals that the proposed site is nestled immediately <br />between I-35W and Highway 118. It is also very close to <br />County Road J, Highway 10 and Highway 65. Not far away <br />are I-694, Highway 47, Highway 49 and Highway 96. By car, <br />the site is literally just minutes away from golfers in the <br />primary and secondary market areas. <br />It is fair to say that public access by roads and highways to <br />the proposed Mounds View site is excellent. It will be <br />important to create signage and access in the immediate <br />vacinity of the facility to complement its generally excellent <br />location. <br />11 <br />
