Mounds View Surface Water Management Plan <br /> Action Plan for Implementation <br /> January 25, 1993 <br /> Subject: Mounds View's Surface Water Management Plan (SWMP) <br /> Purpose: To implement the City's surface water management programs <br /> - in accordance with the adopted SWMP. <br /> Goal: The City shall determine and make available the appropriate <br /> resources necessary for successful and timely implementation <br /> of the SWMP. <br /> Problems 1. One-year time lapse since plan adoption may have created <br /> (Probable an unfamiliarity with the SWMP and its corresponding <br /> Obstacles) implementation program. <br /> 2. Limited existing funding sources may prohibit the <br /> complete program implementation. <br /> 3. Negative public perception involving the SWMP, <br /> proposed projects, and potential funding sources may be <br /> delaying implementation. <br /> Solution 1. Prepare brief project update of project to refresh memory <br /> (Obstacles of staff/Council of the SWMP and the implementation <br /> Avoidance) plan. <br /> 2. Brainstorm on available funding sources and their <br /> applicability to the implementation program. <br /> 3. Make a concerted effort to involve the public when <br /> considering the implementation of specific projects <br /> conceptualized in the SWMP. <br />
