• The City's 1993/94 FOCUS 2000 project will be completed in <br /> 1994 and it is anticipated that the Council will develop an <br /> implementation Program that will reflect the results of the <br /> FOCUS 2000 recommendations and form the basis for the <br /> City's future programs, services plans, goals and objectives. <br /> 2. ADVISORY COMMISSIONS - The City's active advisory <br /> commissions include the Planning Commission, the Civil <br /> Service Commission, the Environmental Quality Commission, <br /> the Cable Committee and the Parks and Recreation <br /> Commission. In addition, the City has two active Task Forces, <br /> the Golf Course Task Force and the Senior Center Task Force. <br /> The Commissions and Task Forces serve as advisory bodies to <br /> the City Council. <br /> The Golf Course Task Force has been working toward the <br /> realization of a golf course in the City of Mounds View. They <br /> have been meeting regularly and if all goes well, have slated <br /> the Spring of 1995 as the completion date for this project. <br /> • The Senior Center Task Force has also been working on a joint <br /> effort with three other cities in the area to provide a senior <br /> center and services to the seniors of our communities. The <br /> cities involved include Mounds View, Spring Lake Park, Fridley <br /> and New Brighton. <br /> It is not anticipated that the activities of the City's Commissions <br /> will significantly impact the annual budget. Any budgetary <br /> increases are expected to result from increases in general <br /> operating expenses. <br /> The Mounds View Charter Commission is not an advisory <br /> commission to the City Council, but a separate entity charged <br /> with policy decision-making authority which does impact the <br /> City. Over the past years, the Commission has been discussing <br /> proposing changes to the City Charter that may directly impact <br /> City programs, services and operations. <br /> .
