Low density neighborhoods shall be maintained and <br /> preserved by preventing\minimizing the encroachment <br /> of higher use types . <br /> c . Continue yearly housing maintenance inspections to <br /> ensure the quality of housing stock remains high. <br /> d. Protect residential neighborhoods from excessive <br /> amounts of vehicular through traffic . <br /> e. Where necessary, through public or private means, <br /> take part in rehabilitation and\or redevelopment of <br /> substandard housing units. <br /> f. Strictly limit or prohibit commercial land uses <br /> within established residential districts. <br /> Goal 4: Deal with the use of land and residential development in <br /> a creative and innovative manner. <br /> Policies: a. Encourage the use of buffer zones between differing <br /> densities of residential housing. <br /> b. Consider all innovations in subdivision design <br /> including cul-de-sac and loop streets . <br /> c. Recognize that the City must be willing to adapt <br /> to current trends in all land use planning. <br />
