REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION Agenda Section: <br /> 111 <br /> Report Number: 93-636WS 14 <br /> OU�LDS <br /> STAFF REPORT <br /> �C�u° AGENDA SESSION DATE October 4, 1993 Report Date: 9-30-93 <br /> DISPOSITION <br /> Item Description: <br /> 3rd Quarter Report (July, August, September) - Community Development/Public Works <br /> Administrator's Review/Recommendation: �` <br /> - No comments to supplement this report f <br /> - Comments attached. / <br /> 1 <br /> Explanation/Summary (attach supplementeets as necessary.) <br /> SUMMARY; <br /> Major activities in the Community Development during the third quarter of <br /> 1993 included the following: <br /> Building Inspections <br /> * A total of 172 building, heating and plumbing permits were <br /> issued during the Quarter. Additionally, 30 Housing <br /> Redevelopment Authority (HRA) inspections were conducted by the <br /> department. The number of permits issued is a best estimate for <br /> the quarter - Staff had the misfortune of suffering through a <br /> computer hard disk failure which resulted in the loss of a <br /> portion of the quarters' information. Most information has been <br /> retrieved and re-entered on the computer. <br /> * The Building Inspector attended a seminar which focused on the special <br /> inspection requirements of steel buildings including UBC provisions, <br /> material specifications, bolting, welding, shear connectors, etc. <br /> Engineering <br /> * Continued to provide day-to-day technical support—for the-Water <br /> and-Sewer Division--of the-Public Worms-Department. <br /> * Continued to serve as City coordinator on Long Lake Road <br /> reconstruction providing necessary utility and other requested <br /> information. <br /> * Assisted in provision of sanitary sewer service for the Twin <br /> City Army Ammunition Plant (TCAAP) . This is a replacement line <br /> utilizing the existing Mounds View system. <br /> * Provided technical assistance to Administration regarding the <br /> City Hall expansio 'ect. <br /> / G <br /> RECOMMENDATION:—L----/ Harrington, C. y Planner <br />
